Jind, September 7 (HS). Former minister Bachan Singh Arya on Saturday resigned from all his posts in the BJP and filed his nomination as an independent candidate. Before filing his nomination, Bachan Singh Arya took out a road show in the city and reached the old grain market with drums and addressed a roaring public meeting. No one moved from their place even in the heavy rain during the public meeting. Prominent people from 36 communities showered Bachan Singh Arya with turbans, turbans and garlands.
Bachan Singh Arya first announced his resignation from BJP membership and posts in the public meeting and then asked the people whether he should contest the election or not. On which the people raised their hands and gave their support and asked him to contest the election as an independent candidate. After getting the support from the public, Bachan Singh Arya openly announced to contest the election as an independent candidate. He said that when the public has given him the ticket then what is he worried about. The history of 2005 will be repeated again. Many candidates including big parties will be blown away in this storm. In 2005 also, people had defeated big names by wearing yellow turbans and putting yellow sashes around their necks. Bachan Singh Arya said that this time the fight is not limited to becoming an MLA only but is for the CM and Deputy CM. This time no party seems to be getting the majority. Around 20 independent MLAs will win from all over Haryana. Those independent MLAs will sit in AC rooms and talk to those who give and cut tickets face to face and will demand the posts of CM and Deputy CM from them. Arya said that this election is about the honour and respect of Safidon constituency. We have ensured victory of BJP candidates from Safidon with huge margins in Lok Sabha elections but Bharatiya Janata Party has looted the respect of the constituency and the people here will take revenge for it this time.
