Jind, 26 August (HS). Farmers who were staging an indefinite sit-in protest against BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at the sub-division office burnt her effigy and demanded an apology. Farmers gathered in front of the sub-division office under the leadership of protest convenor Azad Palwan. They expressed their anger by raising slogans against BJP MP Kangana Ranaut.
On Monday, farmers demanded an apology from Kangana Ranaut for her controversial statement on farmers. Azad Palwan said that the BJP MP's statement has revealed the BJP's thinking about farmers. She has given controversial statements about farmers earlier as well. Now once again she has given a controversial statement on the biggest movement after the country's independence, carried out by farmers to save their land.
There is anger among the farmers of the whole country regarding this. If Kangana Ranaut does not apologize for this statement, then the farmers will take a big decision. He said that when the movement was going on, BJP leaders sometimes called the farmers Khalistani and sometimes something else. For 13 months, the farmers protested peacefully for their demands. The government definitely harassed the farmers but the farmers did not harass anyone. The farmers did not take any such step which was against the country and public interest. Farmers continued to protest with their families in winter and summer. More than 700 farmers died in this movement.
