Jind: Case filed against 70 villagers including the Sarpanch of Sandeel and policemen | News India

Jind, September 5 (HS). Alewa police station has registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code against six people including the village sarpanch and 60-70 other villagers and policemen for threatening and abusing the Sadhvi, her mother and the Mahant of the Sandil Dera of the village, and trying to capture the Dera.

Durgainath, disciple of Mahant Nandanainath of Sandil Dera, told in her complaint to the police that on July 7, the village head Sunil and other villagers stopped her from going to the Dera. She was threatened with dire consequences and was abused. The accused tried to capture the Dera. When she sought help from the police, instead of giving her protection, they supported the villagers. She was kept in lockup illegally and later released in a safe house. On the complaint of Durgainath, the Alewa police station has registered a case under various Indian Penal Code against the village head Sunil Kumar, Pammi, Rajendra, Buddhiman, Gaba, Sultan, 70 other villagers and policemen.
