Jind: Candidates wishing to contest Lok Sabha elections can also file nomination papers online

Jind, 22 March (Hindustan Reporter). During the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Election Department has made special arrangements at polling stations for disabled voters and voters above 85 years of age. So that they can exercise their franchise conveniently.

District Election Officer Mohammad Raza has said that to ensure easy access of disabled and elderly voters, apart from facilities like ramps, wheelchairs, transport arrangements, medical kits etc., Red Cross Society and self-help groups will cooperate at the polling stations. The Commission has also created Saksham App for the purpose of providing information related to elections for disabled voters. He said that the education department plays an important role in elections. Most of the polling stations in the district have been set up in schools. Teachers should give information related to the election process to the children and ask them to make their parents as well as other people aware about voting. On the day of voting, when their parents come to vote, they should also come along and take a selfie and upload it on their social media account. District Election Officer Mohammad Imran Raza said that every voter of Jind district should exercise his franchise and participate in the elections coming in five years.

Election Commission of India has launched 20 mobile apps.

The Election Commission of India has launched more than twenty online apps for the convenience of voters during the election process. By using which the voter or any candidate can get his/her problem resolved. District Election Officer Mohammad Imran Raza said that to make the election process simple and convenient, the Election Commission of India has started many services offline as well as online. For example, if an 18 year old youth or girl wants to get his/her vote cast, he/she can apply online at voters.eci.in. This facility is available only until the nomination process for the Lok Sabha elections starts. It will be closed after the start of nomination papers. This process will start in Jind from April 29 and will continue till May 6.
