A big news has come out regarding economic development and digital revolution in Jharkhand. In the high-level review meeting of the Finance and Commercial Tax Department held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, it became clear that due to better management of mineral resources and transparent monitoring system, Jharkhand has left behind its neighboring states Odisha and Chhattisgarh in terms of mining revenue. Along with this important meeting, the Chief Minister also launched the country’s first tribal centric ‘Adinivasi’ digital app during a grand program organized at Audrey House, which will work to save the history and knowledge of the tribal society.
Revenue increased through transparent system, strict instructions on illegal mining
During the review meeting, the officials apprised the Chief Minister with the data that due to systematic and effective monitoring of mineral resources in the state, a historic increase in revenue collection has been recorded. On this wonderful achievement, Chief Minister Hemant Soren patted the officials on the back and directed to further strengthen it. CM said in clear words that complete transparency should be maintained in the mining sector, illegal mining should be completely controlled and for this modern technologies should be used as much as possible. Along with this, special emphasis was laid on effectively curbing tax evasion and speeding up the process of tax assessment and collection.
Biometric system will be mandatory in government offices, accountability will increase
In this marathon review of the Finance Department, various financial topics like budget estimation, revenue target, establishment expenditure and grants-in-aid received from the Central Government were discussed in detail. Taking a tough stance, the Chief Minister gave a major direction to bring transparency in administrative work and fix accountability of officers. CM Soren said that now the biometric system should be implemented compulsorily in the processes related to the attendance and functioning of officers and employees in all the concerned government offices and departments of the state. Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar and many senior officials were present in this meeting.
Country’s first ‘Adinivasi’ app launched: Tribal society reached digital platform
After the revenue review meeting, Chief Minister Hemant Soren launched a historic digital initiative at Audrey House. CM launched the country’s first mobile app ‘Adinivaasi’ which is completely developed by tribals, for tribals and by tribals only. Launching the app, the Chief Minister said, “It is very important to adapt to the changes. Even though our ancestors were not formally educated, our rich traditional understanding and knowledge could not be documented. But now we have passed through different eras and have reached the digital platform.”
Historical document will be made of traditional knowledge of tribals
The Chief Minister expressed hope that this new digital app will prove to be a strong historical document of the traditional knowledge, culture, history and deep understanding of the tribals. This app will also play a big and positive role in the work of organizations like Tribal Research Institute (TRI) working in Ranchi. This special program started with a beautiful Nagpuri Kora song by Nitish Kachhap and Garima Ekka. Many eminent personalities of the society including Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Mahua Maji, Khijri MLA Rajesh Kachhap and IPS Sarojini Lakra were present in this program organized under the guidance of app founder Captain Nitin Kujur, Jharkhand Head Sajit Toppo and Director Eric Kerketta.
