Ranchi, March 14 (Hindustan Reporter) Jharkhand Police has sent summons to the concerned officers in the SC-ST case filed against the officers by former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren. According to the information received on Thursday, he has been asked to be present at Gonda police station at 11 am on March 21. Soren has accused the ED officers of harassing and humiliating the entire community. From the police side, ED's Additional Director Kapil Raj, Assistant Director Devvrat Jha along with Anupam Kumar and Aman Patel are included. Ranchi Police has sent a notice under CrPC 41A and called for questioning.
This action has been taken a week after the Jharkhand High Court ordered 'no punitive action' against Enforcement Directorate (ED) officers. On March 4, the High Court had asked not to take any punitive action against ED officers in this case. ED had approached the High Court on February 5 regarding the case registered by Hemant Soren on January 31. This case was registered on the same day when Hemant Soren was arrested after questioning.
