Jharkhand High Court seeks response from ED on the bail plea of ​​land businessman Afsar Ali

Ranchi, March 1 (HS). The bail plea of ​​officer Ali, accused in the scam of buying and selling of army land at Bariatu, was heard in the Jharkhand High Court on Friday. The court has directed the ED to file a reply in the case. The court has also sought information from ED regarding the procedure adopted in the arrest of Officer Ali. The next hearing of the case will be on March 15. Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad's court heard the case.

Advocate Nilesh Kumar appeared on behalf of the petitioner. On his behalf, the court was told that the charge sheet has been filed in the case against Officer Ali and the investigation has been completed. He is in jail in judicial custody since April 14 last year. In view of this, he should be granted bail. The ED court had rejected the bail plea of ​​Officer Ali. After this, a petition for bail has been filed on his behalf in the High Court.

It is noteworthy that in the case related to the purchase and sale of 4.55 acres of Army occupied land located in Bariatu, ED has arrested former Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan, businessman Vishnu Aggarwal, Revenue Sub Inspector of Badagain Zone Bhanu Pratap Prasad, fake Rayat Pradeep Bagchi, land businessman. Chargesheet has been filed against Afsar Ali, Imtiaz Khan, Talha Khan, Faiyaz Khan and Mohammad Saddam, Amit Aggarwal and Dilip Ghosh.
