This incident happened on the MGR railway line from Lalmatiya to Farakka. After the accident, rail service on this route has been disrupted. The incident took place near Ranga Ghuttu village of Barhet police station area of ​​Sahibganj district of Jharkhand, near the MGR railway line from Lalmatia to Farakka, where miscreants planted explosives and detonated it. In which a 470 cm piece of track has been damaged. The explosion was so powerful that a part of the railway track fell 39 meters away.

According to the information, after the blast a gap of 770 cm has appeared in the track. There is a three feet deep pit there. The explosion occurred near pillar number 40/1. A piece of track was found on pillar number 39/15. The investigation so far has not revealed the cause of the explosion. After the accident, senior officials of Jharkhand Police, RPF and Railways are present on the spot. The police are investigating the matter thoroughly. It is not yet known whether Naxalites are behind this accident or someone has deliberately damaged the railway track.

According to the information received from the Railways, the incident is said to have happened around 12 o'clock in the night. After the incident, the coal laden train is standing near pole number 42/2. SP Amit Kumar Singh said that the incident will be investigated and strict action will be taken. Regarding the incident, Railway Night Guard Jitendra Kumar Sah said that his duty is on this line from 4 pm to 12 midnight. He was on duty at the time of the incident. Many times during the investigation, they did not see any movement in the line till 10 pm. At around 12 noon there was a sound like an explosion, due to which panic spread.
