According to his medical records, Goyal has a small tumor in his intestine, called 'neuroendocrine tumor' (slow-growing cancer).

Along with serious illness, he also has a hiatal hernia of about 35 cm to 40 cm. Goyal's application states that his biopsy was sent for histopathological analysis and immunohistochemistry. The petition said that based on the findings, it is necessary that Goyal first undergo a PET scan for cancer, based on which the doctor will decide the course of treatment including surgery, chemotherapy.

Special public prosecutor Sunil Gonsalves said the medical board of JJ Hospital should be constituted as per ED instructions and Goyal's medical papers. Medical report will have to be given by 20th February

Goyal's lawyer said he had no objection but said that the medical board should be constituted as soon as possible so that the time taken in the process does not affect the health of the accused. After hearing both the sides, the court said that the Dean of JJ Hospital is requested to constitute a medical board as requested by the ED and conduct a thorough examination of Goyal's health. The judge said that the medical board has to give its clear opinion to the court by 20 February. The court said that the board will investigate the disease and report that J.J.
