Jeevika sisters started tree plantation campaign

Katihar, July 15 (HS). Jeevika sisters started the plantation campaign from Bhawara Panchayat of Katihar Sadar block. Under this campaign, 1300 saplings were distributed among the Jeevika sisters by the Forest Department. In all the panchayats of all the blocks of the district, Jeevika sisters have to plant one or two saplings on their land around their house or farm. Under the Water-Life-Greenery Mission, under “Green Jeevika, Green Bihar-5”, a target has been set this year to plant two lakh fifty-seven thousand three hundred and twenty-five saplings in various villages of Katihar district.

On this occasion, District Project Manager Indra Shekhar Indu greeted all the Jeevika sisters and gave the message of environmental protection by planting trees. He appealed to all the Jeevika sisters to plant as many trees as possible to protect the environment. In this context, Indra Shekhar Indu said that if we want to save ourselves from the ill effects of climate change, then we will have to save water, life and greenery by planting trees.

Trees are the most precious and important source of life on our earth. Just as the living creatures on earth cannot live without water, similarly we cannot live without trees. Trees continuously provide us oxygen, shade, air, fruits, wood for breathing without any discrimination. The benefits of trees do not end here. We get medicines from trees. Trees help in curing our diseases and keeping us healthy.

To achieve the target of plantation of trees in the district, micro planning has been prepared at the village organization level in each Panchayat. A micro plan was prepared in coordination with the Forest Department. According to the micro plan, the Forest Department is supplying plants. The Forest Department is supplying plants prepared from the nursery and other places among the Jeevika Didis. Drop points have been made in each Panchayat for the supply and collection of plants. The Forest Department will supply plants at these drop points and from here the plants will be distributed to all the Jeevika Didis.

In this program, Jeevika's district level social development manager Anoj Kumar Pauddar, manager communication Rupesh Kumar, block project manager Katihar Sadar Amrita Kumari, regional coordinator Vishwanath Mahaldar, community coordinator Rajesh Kumar, didis of Dharti Sagar Jeevika Complex Sangh, all the community cadres and Jeevika didis of Bhawara Panchayat were present.
