Japan has issued hologram notes for the first time in the world, it will not be possible to counterfeit these notes


The Bank of Japan, located in Nihonbashi, Tokyo, has issued a new currency for the first time in 20 years. Bank of Japan Governor Ueda Kazuo said that the bank will release new notes worth 16 trillion yen or $ 9.9 billion into the market on the first day. Central banks handed over bundles of new notes to financial institutions.

The new 5,000 yen notes feature Tsuda Umeko. She was one of the women who went abroad for education. The new 1,000 yen notes feature Kitasato Shibasaburo. Kitasato was a bacteriologist who discovered a cure for tetanus.

Japan's currency notes have incorporated the latest hologram technology, so it will not be possible to make fake notes. According to Japan's National Printing Bureau, hologram technology has been used on currency notes for the first time in the world. The notes have a 3D feature which will strengthen the security features.
