Korba/Janjgir-Champa, August 29 (HS). Collector Akash Chikkara inaugurated the National Deworming Day program on Thursday by feeding Albendazole tablets to the students at Jai Bharat English Medium Higher Secondary School, Janjgir. The collector said that by taking deworming medicine, the health and nutrition level of children will improve and intellectual development will take place by preventing anemia. The collector said that the aim of this campaign is to improve the health of children and free them from worm infection. The collector motivated the students to study regularly and diligently.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Manoj Barman informed that, in the district a total of 4 lakhs 8 thousand 589 children aged between 01 to 19 years are being given Albendazole tablets for deworming in all government, non-government schools and colleges, training institutes and Anganwadi centres. District Program Manager Mr. Utkarsh Tiwari informed that the deworming medicine should be chewed and eaten, the medicine does not have any kind of side effect. If there is any kind of problem after consuming the medicine, then 108 ambulance can be called immediately and the child can be sent to the nearest health centre. On this occasion, concerned officers, employees, school principals, teachers and students were present.
