James Anderson, the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket, has retired

England legend and all-time great James Anderson's illustrious career ended on Friday with a spectacular victory in the first Test match against West Indies at Lord's Cricket Ground in London. At the age of 41, England's leading fast bowler James Anderson said goodbye to cricket. He made his international debut in 2002 at the age of 20. He took 704 wickets in Tests, 269 in ODIs and 18 in T20Is… a total of 991 wickets.

Led the fast bowling of the England team for 21 years. He was playing his last Test at Lord's. After winning the match, he came to the balcony, shouted at the hundreds of fans gathered on the field and then said – playing cricket for England is the best job in the world and then said goodbye. Anderson started his ODI career in 2002 against Australia and played his last match against Afghanistan in 2015. He started his Test career against Zimbabwe in 2003 and played his last match against West Indies. His T20 debut was against Australia in 2007 and his last match was played against South Africa in 2009.
