After visiting Singapore and Philippines, Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar reached Malaysia on Wednesday. The two-day tour of Malaysia is ending today i.e. on 28th March. Jaishankar concluded his tour by meeting Malaysia's Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo. After reaching Malaysia, Jaishankar also met the Prime Minister there, Anwar bin Ibrahim. Jaishankar also congratulated him on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Jaishankar wrote on social media, “It is an honor to meet the Prime Minister of Malaysia. His vision for stronger India-Malaysia relations in both traditional and new age sectors will help us shape a more ambitious agenda for relations. We will benefit.” “His guidance and insight have led to regional development.”
Jaishankar thanked Prime Minister Anwar for helping deepen bilateral relations under the India-Malaysia Strategic Partnership. He held a bilateral meeting with Malaysian Foreign Minister Haji Mohammed bin Haji Hassan. Political, trade, economic, defense and education sectors were discussed between these two leaders. They also discussed issues of regional and global interest. Foreign Minister Jaishankar also met Digital Minister Govind Singh Deo.
Jaishankar made a post on social media platform Twitter(X), concluding his Malaysia tour. He said, “I concluded my program in Malaysia by meeting Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo. We discussed everything from finding professional opportunities to digital collaboration.”
