India and Russia maintain a strong strategic partnership
The External Affairs Minister further said that India and Russia have had a strong strategic partnership for decades. Which is based on historical relations and mutual interests. According to the Russian news agency, at the heart of this relationship is extensive defense cooperation with Russia serving as a major supplier of military equipment to India.
Recently, energy cooperation has become another strong pillar in bilateral relations. India's largest Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP) is being built in Tamil Nadu with technical assistance provided by Moscow.
Russia's expertise in nuclear technology has been instrumental in advancing India's capabilities if a mutually beneficial partnership is fostered. Both countries have resolved to strengthen their nuclear cooperation for energy security and technological advancement.
