US Secretary of State Anthony J. Apart from the Munich Security Conference, Blink was also invited by Foreign Minister Dr. Met S Jaishankar. During this, both of them discussed the challenging security situation in the Red Sea. It also highlighted how the US and India play a vital role in maintaining economic stability in a volatile region.
Blinken highlighted that the respective US and Indian approaches to maritime security in the Red Sea are mutually reinforcing and play an important role in achieving economic stability in the region. The two Ministers also discussed the ongoing work to ensure lasting peace and security in the Middle East.
Work is in progress to ensure safety
The two leaders also met on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference in Germany on Friday. Meanwhile, it was stressed that the Red Sea is a major commercial corridor that facilitates international trade. Blinken also welcomed increased cooperation with India to protect freedom of navigation in the region. He said they also discussed ongoing work to ensure lasting peace and security in the Middle East.
Nice to meet American friend: Jaishankar
After the meeting, Jaishankar gave a statement and said that it was very nice to meet his American friend Blinken. Our conversations focused on the situation in West Asia, Ukraine and the Indo-Pacific. The ongoing progress in our bilateral relations was reviewed.
Also met Argentina's Foreign Minister
S. Jaishankar also held a meeting with his Argentinian counterpart Diana Mondino. During this, economic and political cooperation between the two countries was discussed. Jaishankar wrote in a tweet on Twitter, Nice to meet FM Diamandino of Argentina this evening.

Meanwhile S. Jaishankar also met Yuna's National Defense Minister Nikos Dandias. This year the conference is being organized under the chairmanship of Christopher Heusgen, German Ambassador to America.
