Jaishankar formally inaugurates India's new Consulate General in Brisbane, pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

Brisbane (Australia), 04 November (Hindustan Reporter). Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar formally inaugurated the new Consulate General of India here. Earlier this morning, he paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by offering flowers at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Roma Street Parklands here.

Jaishankar wrote on Twitter, “Happy to formally inaugurate the new Consulate General of India in Brisbane today. “This will help strengthen India’s ties with the state of Queensland, promote trade and serve the expatriate community.”

He wrote, “On this occasion, it was a pleasure to also meet Queensland Governor Dr. Janet Young in Brisbane. We discussed opportunities and ways to strengthen economic, trade and investment cooperation with the State of Queensland. I paid my tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at the Roma Street Parklands in Brisbane this morning. His message of peace and harmony resonates across the world.”
