Ravindra Jadeja performed brilliantly in the test between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur. He took three wickets in the second innings of Bangladesh on the fifth day of the match. Jadeja sent Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto (19), Liton Das (1) and Shakib Al Hasan (0) to the pavilion. His total number of test wickets has reached 303.

After taking 300 wickets in Test cricket, Ravindra Jadeja said that when you achieve something for the country, it is very special. I have been playing Test for 10 years and have reached this point now. I have performed well and am proud of myself. I am happy and feeling good about it. It is special and will always be with me. As a young player I started out in white ball cricket and everyone told me I was a white ball cricketer. However, I worked hard with the red ball and ultimately all the hard work paid off.

Jadeja touched the figure of 300 during Bangladesh's first innings. He achieved this feat by dismissing Khalid Ahmed. With this, Jadeja has become the first Indian left-arm spinner to take 300 wickets in Tests. Before him, six Indian bowlers have taken 300 or more wickets, but none of them is a left-arm spinner.

Not only this, Jadeja is the fourth spin bowler all-rounder to score more than 3000 runs and take more than 300 wickets in Tests. Before him, Daniel Vettori, R Ashwin and Shane Warne have done this. Vettori scored 4531 runs in Tests and took 382 wickets. Ashwin has scored 3423 runs and taken 527 wickets. Shane Warne has 3154 runs and 708 wickets in his name in Tests. Jadeja has scored 3130 runs and taken 303 wickets.

He became the 11th player to complete 300 wickets and 3000 runs in this format. Also, he is the third Indian player to do so. Before Jadeja, former Indian captain Kapil Dev (434 wickets and 5248 runs) and experienced off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (522 wickets and 3422 runs) have achieved this feat.
