A lot of runs are being scored in this season of IPL. Batsmen are seen playing record-breaking innings. Delhi Capitals batsman Jack Fraser-McGurk batted like this in the match against Mumbai. Playing against Mumbai Indians, McGurk scored a half-century in just 15 balls. He batted explosively with a strike rate of more than 300. However, he could not break the record of former explosive Chennai Super Kings batsman Suresh Raina.
McGurk scored 80 runs from the boundary
Actually, in his explosive innings, McGurk hit 11 fours-6 sixes in 27 balls and scored a total of 84 runs at a strike rate of 311.11. This is the fifth highest score of 50+ runs from just boundaries in an IPL innings. That means McGurk scored 80 runs out of his 84 runs only from boundaries. McGurk scored 95.23 percent of his runs from boundaries.
Could not break Suresh Raina's record
Earlier, he had made a similar record by playing a stormy innings against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Then he scored 62 out of 65 runs only through boundaries. However, despite this brilliant innings, he fell behind Suresh Raina's record.
Raina scored 84 out of 87 runs from boundaries.
Suresh Raina played an explosive innings against Punjab Kings in 2001, scoring 87 runs in 25 balls. Out of which 84 runs came only from boundaries. Raina scored 96.55 runs from the boundary. No batsman has been able to break this record till date. Raina hit 12 fours-6 sixes and scored runs at a strike rate of 348.00.
