Jabalpur, May 30 (HS). Two youths from Bharatpur, Rajasthan died on Thursday after drowning in a pond in Sihora police station area of the city. On receiving information from the people present on the spot, the police reached the spot and took out the bodies of both of them from the pond and took them to the hospital, where after post-mortem, the bodies were handed over to their friends.
Sihora police station informed that NCC company is laying BSNL line in village Ganjtal of Sihora. Ansar Khan (25), son of Israel Khan, resident of Bharatpur, Rajasthan and Naseem Khan (24), son of D Khan were working there. Like every day, both of them reached the site on Thursday. After finishing the work, at around 12 noon, they reached Ganjtal pond to take bath, where while bathing, Ansar went into deep water and started drowning. Seeing him drowning, Naseem tried to save him but he also drowned in deep water.
People present on the spot informed the police after seeing them drowning. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police of Sihora police station reached the spot. The search began with the help of local divers. After about half an hour of effort, Ansar was found and rescued, but by then he had died. The team took one and a quarter hours to find Naseem, but by the time he was rescued, he had also stopped breathing.
After the incident, villagers gathered near the pond. Villagers said that the pond is very deep, unaware of this, the youth went to bathe in it and became a victim of the accident.
