Jabalpur: Skeletons of more than 50 dead cattle found in Katangi hill, tension in the area

Jabalpur, June 26 (HS). A situation of tension was created on Wednesday morning when the heads, skeletons and remains of more than 50 dead cattle were found on Tulla Baba ki Pahari near Katangi in the district. Within no time, a large number of local villagers and workers of Hindu organizations reached the spot and started creating a ruckus. When the Katangi police station got information about this, they also reached the spot. Bajrang Dal workers have demanded from the police that the culprits be sent to jail. They have also told the police the names of some suspects. The police have started raiding their hideouts.

Hindu organizations expressed anger by suspecting that the remains of cows were also present in the remains of dead cattle. As soon as the incident came to light, the administration and police officials reached the spot and controlled the situation. The remains of the cattle have been seized from the spot and sent for postmortem, so that it can be known how the cattle died and which cattle the remains belong to. In fact, for the last few days, cases of cow slaughter are continuously coming from different districts, due to which there is anger among Hindu organizations. Initial investigation by the police has revealed that the skeletons of the cattle are very old.

According to the information, on Wednesday morning, villagers saw the remains of dead cattle on a hill near Katangi. This information spread like fire in the village and a large number of villagers reached the spot. After some time, workers of Bajrang Dal and other organizations reached the spot and started sloganeering. After some time, ASP Rural Suryakant Sharma, TI Pooja Upadhyay, administrative and municipal officials, veterinary doctor and police force reached the spot. 40 remains (skeletons) of cattle were collected and brought down from the hill, which were sent to the veterinary hospital for postmortem. ASP Sharma said that after receiving the postmortem report, the cause of death and which cattle the skeleton belongs to will be known.

Let us tell you that on June 23, in village Mohla of Katangi police station area, a calf's severed head and tail were found in a sack in Indal Singh's field. It was infested with worms. Bajrang Dal workers and local villagers had expressed anger. Registering an FIR on the report of Ghanshyam Pradhan in the case, the police arrested Nazir Khan, Adil Khan, Abdul Rahim, Sarfaraz alias Kanja and Zaheer Mansuri and sent them to jail. The police was investigating the case when on Wednesday once again more than 50 severed heads and body parts of cows were found lying there.

Bajrang Dal's department convenor Sumit Singh Thakur says that so far 30 cow heads have been collected, while some have been sent for postmortem. He said that the activists have given the names of some suspicious people living in Katangi to the police. The police is investigating on this basis.

Hindu organization workers met ASP Suryakant Sharma who is investigating the case and demanded strict action against the culprits. ASP says that names of some people have come to light. Katangi police station in-charge Pooja Upadhyay has been instructed to investigate.
