Jabalpur, September 11 (HS). There has been a discrepancy since the beginning regarding Ganesh Visarjan in Sanskardhani. The immersion starts on the day of Anant Chaturdashi and continues for several days. Regarding which, District Collector Deepak Saxena put forth his opinion in front of the saints that the immersion of Lord Ganesha should be done on the day of Anand Chaturdashi because immersion during Pitru Paksha is not valid. On which the saints of the city held a meeting and agreed unanimously and have requested the people to do Ganesh Visarjan only on the day of Anant Chaturdashi and not during Pitru Paksha.
It is noteworthy that Ganesh Utsav is celebrated on a large scale in Jabalpur and idols of Lord Ganesha are installed in homes and public pandals. But when it comes to immersion, people keep immersing the idols from Anant Chaturdashi till several days later and celebrate in the form of processions in the city. This not only brings the traffic system of the city to a standstill, but the administration also has to face trouble. In view of all these things, the District Collector invited the saints of the city to a meeting and asked them for their unanimous opinion on this matter, which the saints gladly accepted. Among the saints of the city, Swami Chaitanyanand Maharaj, Swami Narsinghdas Maharaj, Pandit Vasudev Shastri, Swami Ashokanand, Swami Rajaramacharyaji, Munna Pandey, along with Sarvadharma Coordinator Sharad Kabra participated.
