This medicine shop was recently inspected by drug inspectors Devendra Jain and Sharad Jain. During the investigation, the firm's proprietor Mamta Kori was asked to submit the record of purchase of codeine cough syrup, but no document or answer was presented by her to the Food and Drug Administration office.

During this period this shop will remain closed. After the suspension order, purchase or sale of the medicine by the non-applicant will be considered completely illegal. Medicine sellers have been asked to sell sleeping pills, abortion medicines and scheduled medicines as per the rules and their records should also be maintained.
Drug sellers have also been instructed to be careful in selling sleeping medicines and those medicines which can be misused as intoxicants. Medicine sellers have been asked to store such medicines at appropriate places and only those medicines which are to be kept in cold storage should be stored in the fridge. Instructions have also been given to drug sellers to keep medicines with expiry dates separate from the stock for sale in the quarter in advance, so that medicines with expiry dates cannot be sold even by mistake. A warning has also been given that if any drug dealer is found involved in illegal drug trade, strict action will be taken against him.
