Jabalpur: Massive fire broke out in three shops, three houses also burnt

Jabalpur, 19 May (HS). A fire broke out in three shops in Ganjipura area of ​​the city on Sunday morning. Gradually the fire kept increasing and engulfed the three houses built at the rear. More than 20 vehicles of the fire brigade reached the spot and after about five hours of hard work, the fire was brought under control, but by then all the three shops and the goods kept in the houses were burnt to ashes.

Ganjipura Market is the densest and busiest area of ​​the city. There was a fire in three shops here on Sunday morning around 9.30 am. By 11 am the fire reached three houses behind the shops. Apart from these, the fire brigade team also evacuated the nearby houses. The fire could be controlled at 1 pm with the help of about 20 fire tenders.

According to the information, smoke was first seen rising from the bag shop. After this the fire reached the nearby clothing shops. The bag shop is in a three-storey building. Next to it, there are clothing shops in separate four-storey buildings. Its owner Pradeep Kumar Jain and his family live on the upper floor of the building where the bag shop is located. According to Pradeep, he and his wife had gone to the temple. There he got the information. Two daughters aged 18 and 19 were sleeping at home, who were taken out by the local people.

Leader of Opposition in Jabalpur Municipal Corporation Kamlesh Aggarwal said that the fire has been extinguished with everyone's cooperation. We will seek help for those who have suffered losses. Bag shop owner Pradeep Kumar Jain says that recently goods worth Rs 35 lakh were filled. Cash worth Rs 2.5 lakh was also burnt.
