Jabalpur: Collector Saxena's son's last rites were performed in a sad atmosphere

Jabalpur, June 03 (HS). Jabalpur Collector Deepak Saxena's son Amol Saxena was cremated on Monday in a sombre atmosphere at Gwarighat Muktidham. His cousin Arpit Saxena lit the funeral pyre of Amol. Minister Rakesh Singh, former minister Lakhan Ghanghoria, former minister Ajay Vishnoi, former MLA Sanjay Yadav, in-charge collector Anay Dwivedi and SP Aditya Pratap Singh along with many police and administration officials attended the funeral.

21-year-old Amol was pursuing a course in film studies in Delhi. His health deteriorated on Saturday. He was admitted to Delhi AIIMS on Sunday. He died during treatment at Delhi AIIMS on Sunday. On Monday evening, Amol's body was brought to Jabalpur from Delhi via air ambulance. People gathered at the collector's bungalow in Civil Lines for the last darshan. After this, Amol's last journey was taken out from the collector's bungalow. All sections of the society involved in the last journey bid a tearful farewell to Amol. After this, the last rites were performed at Gauri Ghat Muktidham.

Collector Deepak Saxena lives in Jabalpur with his mother Gangadevi Saxena and wife Rachna Saxena. Daughter Darshim Saxena is also studying in Delhi. She has been with her parents in Jabalpur for a month. It is suspected that Amol died of heat stroke, but the short post-mortem report has revealed that Amol died due to cardiac arrest.
