Additional Chief Secretary of the State Government Ashok Varnwal and Commissioner Agriculture L Shailvendram on Thursday inspected the kidney bean crop being grown as an innovation on the field of farmer Arun Gotiya of village Surai of Shahpura development block of the district. Under crop diversification, an attempt has been made to grow Rajma crop for the first time in Jabalpur district and division.
Joint Director of Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department KS Netam, Atma Project Director Dr. SK Nigam, Sub-Divisional Officer Agriculture Dr. Indira Tripathi and other departmental officers took the Additional Chief Secretary on a tour of farmer Arun Gotiya's field in village Surai.
While giving information about this crop to the higher officials, Agricultural Extension Officer Rajneesh Dubey said that this crop can be taken thrice a year and in a period of 90 to 100 days, the crop matures and gives a yield of 10 to 12 quintals per acre. . He told that the price of Rajma crop is above Rs 10 thousand per quintal in the market, due to which the farmer can be assured more income at less cost.
On this occasion, it was told that the organic inputs produced on the farm of Vinay Singh Thakur, an organic farming farmer of village Fuller Bhita, have been used in the Rajma crop. Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner Agriculture was also informed about advanced Jeevamrit, biochemical made from sour and sweet fruits, micronutrient chemicals made from three types of pulses and oilseeds and mineral solution made from different types of mineral stones. Was done.
On this occasion, Agriculture Commissioner Shailvendram told the farmers about Rajma crop grown in Neemuch and Ujjain and the benefits from it. He also gave instructions to inform about the results of harvesting of this crop and asked to spread the word about this crop among other farmers also. Additional Chief Secretary Varnwal and Agriculture Commissioner Shailvendram also inspected the crops of urad moong and wheat and also instructed the departmental officers to ensure that improved seeds are provided to the farmers from time to time.
During the inspection, Mr. Mehra from Agricultural Engineering Branch, Assistant Director Agriculture Amit Pandey, Deputy Director Agriculture Narsinghpur Umesh Kathare, Ashutosh Dubey and farmers from Meena and surrounding villages were also present.
