Jabalpur: 4631 cases resolved in National Lok Adalat, award of Rs 39 crore 58 lakh passed

Jabalpur, 11 May (HS). National Lok Adalat, organized today as per the orders of National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi and State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, with the objective of realizing the concept of “Justice for All”, was inaugurated by the Principal District and Sessions Judge/Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur. The ceremony was concluded by lighting the lamp. On the occasion of the inauguration of the National Lok Adalat, Advocates Association President Special Judge Girish Dixit, District Legal Services Authority Secretary Awadhesh Kumar Srivastava and judges and other officials of the Advocates Association were present. While resolving 4631 cases, an award of Rs 49 crore fifty eight lakh fifty eight thousand four hundred thirty eight was passed in the National Lok Adalat.

A total of 78 division benches were formed to resolve the cases and 1520 cases and 3111 pre-litigation cases pending in the courts were resolved. In the said Lok Adalat, there are 255 cases of criminal compoundable nature, 136 cases of Section 138 NI Act, 849 cases of motor accident compensation claim, 69 cases of civil cases, 67 marriage related cases and 59 cases under Electricity Act, 4 labor cases. 81 pending cases of other nature were resolved. In this Lok Adalat, a total settlement amount of more than three crore eight lakh nine hundred and sixteen rupees was decided under Section 138 NI Act, award amount of thirty crore thirteen lakh eight thousand seventy four was passed in motor accident compensation claim cases. Went. Revenue of seven lakh fifty five thousand six hundred and seventy was recovered in 59 cases pending in the electricity courts. Similarly, after resolution of 179 pre-litigation cases of bank recovery, a settlement amount of Rs. 3 crore 49 lakh 2 thousand 119 was received in the Lok Adalat.
