A very sensational case has come to light from Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, where a young man died after being shot while attacking a Special Operation Group (SOG) team of police and attempting to snatch a service rifle. Three policemen have also been seriously injured in this violent clash.
According to officials, this incident took place in Bhaderwah area of Doda district. After initial investigation, the police have made it clear that there is no terrorist angle involved in this entire incident. Let us know what is the whole incident and the main reason behind it:
Attack took place during blockade on information of suspicious activity
According to information received from the police, suspicious activities were being reported in the high altitude mountainous areas of Doda district for some time. Based on this input, a special team of SOG was continuously monitoring and patrolling the area.

Where the incident took place: On Friday, the police had set up a block on Jai-Gandoh Road, about 35 km from Bhaderwah town.

Late night encounter: At around 11:30 pm, the SOG team signaled the two suspicious youths to stop. When stopped by the police team, both the youth suddenly launched a deadly attack on the policemen.
Shot during scuffle and attempt to snatch rifle
Police officials said that when the team stopped both the suspects for questioning, one of the youth allegedly started assaulting the policemen and tried to snatch the service rifle of the on-duty jawan.
Bullet fired in scuffle: During an attempt to snatch the rifle, there was a violent scuffle for a long time between the SOG soldiers and the youth. During this scuffle, in self-defense and to save the weapon, a SOG soldier fired a bullet from his gun, which directly hit the young man who was trying to snatch the rifle.
In this serious scuffle, three policemen were also badly injured, out of which one soldier suffered serious head injuries. Taking advantage of the incident, the second suspected youth managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of the darkness, in search of whom the police are continuously conducting raids.
The young man died during treatment in the hospital
Immediately after the incident, the police administration took all the injured policemen and the bullet injured youth to the nearby Bhaderwah Sub-District Hospital. After first aid, seeing the serious condition of both the parties, they were immediately referred to Doda Government Medical College (Doda GMC).
However, despite all the efforts of the doctors, the young man who was shot died during treatment. Police have identified the deceased as 30-year-old Arif Hussain, who is said to be a resident of Cheeka village. The incident site is about 25 kilometers away from the original home of the deceased.

Considering the seriousness of the matter, Doda police has immediately started investigation. According to top police officials, there is no involvement of any terrorist organization or extremism in the matter. Initial investigation and evidence indicate that the deceased and his absconding accomplice were involved in cattle smuggling in the area and were leaving in the dark of night with this intention. Along with searching for the second absconding youth, the police is also thoroughly investigating other aspects of the case.
