IVPL: Semi-final matches decided, Delhi will face Mumbai, Chhattisgarh will face UP

Greater Noida, March 2 (HS). Red Carpet Delhi, VVIP Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh Warriors and Mumbai Champions have made it to the semi-finals in the inaugural edition of the Indian Veteran Premier League (IVPL). In the first semi-final, Delhi will face Mumbai and in the second semi-final, VVIP Uttar Pradesh will face Chhattisgarh Warriors. Both the semi-final matches will be played today at Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida, while the final match will be played at the same venue on Sunday.

Earlier on Friday night, in the 15th and last match of the league, Red Carpet Delhi defeated Telangana Tigers by 5 wickets. The hero of this victory for Delhi was Richard Levi who played a brilliant inning of 72 runs in 27 balls.

Playing first in this match, Telangana Tigers scored 215 runs in 20 overs losing 6 wickets. Delhi also won this big target with 25 balls remaining. On Thursday, Levi scored his second century of the season against Rajasthan Legends.

He was also chosen Player of the Match for this brilliant performance. From the very beginning, he batted aggressively and along with Farman Ahmed scored 48 runs in the first 3 overs. After this, Asela Gunaratne, Thisara Perera and Ashley Nurse also contributed and led the team to an easy victory.
