Italian Parliament pays tribute to Indian worker who died after losing his hand

Rome: After an Indian worker's hand was cut while working in a field in Italy, his brother left him near his house instead of taking him to the hospital and killed him with a motorcycle, due to which he died. This issue was raised in the session of the Italian Parliament which started today and the MPs paid tribute by observing silence. When Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said that strict action will be taken against the employee for showing such indifference.

The truth of this whole incident is that last week Satnam Singh of Punjab was working in a vegetable field in Lazio village near Rome. His hand got stuck in a machine and his hand got cut. After that the owner of that field instead of taking him and his wife to the hospital took them in a motor car and left them near their house, while Satnam Singh was still alive and was shouting for help to the Seth and the people around him. But the Seth ended the motor car.

Satnam Singh's neighbours told reporters that he subsequently died of pain.

On receiving this information, Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Mukesh Pardeshi contacted Buigi Vignavi, Director General of Italian Citizenship and Migration Policy in Italy, and requested him to take immediate action against those responsible for the death of Satnam Singh. The Indian Embassy is in touch with the family of the deceased and has sought all possible assistance in bringing the body to India.

The owner of the farm where Satnam Singh was working responded harshly and told reporters that the man was not on sale but was a daily wage laborer, so we are not responsible for him.
