With the growing technology, the use of audio devices like earbuds and neckbands has become common in our lives. In today's time, more than half of the population is seen enjoying their world by putting earbuds in their ears.
But did you know that excessive use of these devices can damage your ears? According to ENT specialist Dr. Rakesh Verma, continuous use of these devices at high volume can lead to hearing loss and even deafness.
Why is it dangerous?
Dr. Verma explains that today's youth are constantly connected to their mobile phones and listen to songs or watch videos using earbuds or neckbands. But using these devices at high volume and for a long time puts pressure on the eardrum and gradually the hearing ability starts decreasing. Apart from this, the use of these devices also increases the risk of ear infection.
Loud noise is harmful to the eardrum
Studies show that sound above 130 decibels is harmful to the ears. Most earbuds and neckbands produce sound at this level. Apart from this, the bass used in these devices can also damage the eardrum.
safety tips
