Pakistan's javelin thrower Nadeem won gold medal at Commonwealth 2022 with a throw of 90.18 meters. She won the bronze medal at the Jakarta Asian Games 2018 while Chopra won the gold medal. Olympic and world champion Chopra is Nadeem's rival on the field but off the field they are good friends.

Neeraj Chopra said on Monday that it is difficult to believe that he is struggling to buy a new javelin. To his credit, this shouldn't be a big issue. As far as Nadeem is concerned, some time ago he also said that he has been struggling to buy an international level javelin for the last several years. He expressed disappointment on this. Chopra said that Nadeem should get the support of the Pakistan government.
