Ranchi, 20 August (HS). Various cultural competitions were organized on Tuesday, the fifth day of Sanskrit week, under the joint aegis of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University, Ranchi University's Sanskrit Department and Sanskrit Bharati. It included competitions like solo song, group song and solo dance. On this occasion, the students displayed their talents excellently and highlighted the importance of Sanskrit language and its rich heritage. The competitions made the atmosphere Sanskrit-filled.

In the solo song competition, students presented songs based on various subjects. Under the competition, the song “Ratnagarbha Dhara” praised the glory of the earth, while the song “Mridapi Cha Chandanam” gave voice to the sweetness of Sanskrit language. The loving and sacred relationship between Yashoda and Krishna was expressed through the song “Nay Taav Balamiman Yashode”. The song “Janani Janmabhoomi” expressed reverence and love for the motherland. Songs like “Srivalli” and “Jeevane Tu Bhavatu Sanskritam” enthralled the audience. The songs “Yadi Tvam Milasi Maam” and “Ninadaya Navinamye Vaniveenaam” brought a new trend of music, while “Shakti Sambhritam” expressed the feeling of strength and courage.

The group song competition showcased the collective spirit and coordination of the students. The song “Suras Subodha” introduced the simplicity and grace of the Sanskrit language. “Manasa Satatam Smraniyam” inspired us towards great thoughts that should be remembered constantly. The song “Devvanim Vedavanim” established Sanskrit as the language of Gods and highlighted its spiritual and religious significance. Through group songs, the students presented the glory of Sanskrit in a new form which mesmerized the audience.

Students showcased their dancing skills in the solo dance competition. The “Chandrachud Shankar” dance glorified Lord Shiva and beautifully presented his moon-bearing and trident-bearing form. The “Adharam Madhuram…” dance presented the sweetness of Lord Krishna’s body parts through dance. The “Haristotram” dance praised Lord Vishnu and sung his glories. The “Saralbhasha Sanskritam” dance brought clarity to the simplicity of the Sanskrit language and its practical aspect.

The competitions held on the fourth day of Sanskrit week provided a platform to the students to showcase their skills. The programmes also made them aware and sensitive towards Sanskrit language and culture. The audience present on the occasion appreciated the performances of the students and expressed their faith and love for Sanskrit.

Ranchi University's Humanities Department Head Prof. (Dr.) Archana Dubey motivated the students on the occasion of Sanskrit week and said that it is our responsibility to keep the Sanskrit language alive through dance, song and other art forms. She said that through these arts we can present the deep thoughts and feelings of Sanskrit in a simple and lively form. Encouraging the students, she said that they should showcase their talent in these forms and contribute to enriching Sanskrit.

Dr. Madhulika Verma stressed on the importance of caution during dance performances and said that dance is not just an art but a powerful medium of expression. She advised the students to pay special attention to physical balance and correctness of postures while dancing. Also, understand the meaning of Sanskrit songs and hymns and express it in dance so that its depth and emotions can reach the audience in the right form.

Dr. Dhananjay Vasudev Dwivedi, in his message, encouraged the participants and said that participating in competitions is important because it not only provides a platform to talent but also enhances it. He said that through competition, participants can test their skills and knowledge and gain new experiences. This increases confidence and participants can move more firmly towards their goals.

While encouraging the students, Dr. Shriprakash Singh said that it is a matter of pride for us to serve Sanskrit language and art. He urged the students to use their talent to advance the knowledge and culture of Sanskrit and contribute to its preservation and promotion.

While delivering a message on the occasion of Sanskrit week, Dr. Chandramadhav Singh said that Sanskrit language is the foundation of our cultural values ​​and knowledge. He urged the students to remain dedicated to the study and preservation of Sanskrit so that this invaluable heritage remains safe and relevant for the coming generations.

Dr. Bharti Dwivedi, while emphasizing on the features of song presentation, said that clarity of pronunciation and expression of emotions are very important while singing a song. She encouraged the students to understand the meaning of the song and communicate it emotionally in their presentation, so that the song reaches the hearts of the listeners.

The judges of the competition were- Dr. Madhulika Verma, Dr. Bharti Dwivedi and Dr. Chandramadhav Singh. The competitions were coordinated by Dr. Jagadamba Prasad.

Dr. Shrimitra, Dr. Rahul Kumar, Shubham Kesari, Ashish Kumar, Madhuri Singh, Shivam Narayan, Pratima Chahoun, Amit Mohan, Pankaj Kumar etc. played an important role in making the program successful.
