News India Live, Digital Desk: India’s Space Mission: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has crossed another milestone for India’s first human space flight mission ‘Gaganyaan’. ISRO has successfully completed a very important ‘hot test’ of Gaganyaan’s service module propulsion system (SMPS), which is a major success towards this ambitious mission.
What is this ‘hot test’ and why is it so important?
This is the second successful test of the ‘Hot Test’ Service Module Propulsion System (SMPS), held at the ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu. The purpose of this test was to test its performance capacity by running SMPS in conditions like extreme and real flight. The system consists of a by-propelign ie two different fuels running, which combine 440 Newton’s loud engines (thrusters) and 16 small RCs (reaction control system) engines of 100 Newton. This SMPS will play an important role in the Earth’s orbit and then during the space trip to speed up the crew module, control its direction and perform the necessary maneuvers.
The characteristics of Gaganyaan Mission and its importance:
‘Gaganyaan Mission’ will be a historical achievement in India’s space history. According to this:
The success of this ‘Hot Test’ is an indication that the Gaganyaan Mission is now moving firmly towards its set and a new chapter in Indian space science.
