The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has launched Earth Observation Satellite-8 with the country's smallest rocket SSLV-D3 from Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. SSLV-D3, carrying 175.5 kg EOS-08 and a passenger satellite SR-0 DemoSat, took off from the first launch pad at 09:17 am after a seamless countdown of 6.5 hours that began at 02.47 pm. With this move of ISRO, India will now be able to hear the heartbeat of the earth.

If this mission of ISRO is successful, then India will be able to get timely information about the environment and disaster. It has been launched through the third and final development flight of the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle i.e. SSLV-D3. The countdown of India's small launch vehicle carrying the SR-0 satellite of the startup company Space Rickshaw to the 'Earth Observation Satellite' started at 2.30 am on Friday. This is the third and final flight of SSLV in the development phase. After this the rocket will come into full operation mode.
Let us tell you that the life span of this satellite has been fixed at one year. According to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), the proposed mission will complete the SSLV development project. After this it will be used for missions of Indian industry and public sector company NewSpace India Limited. The EOS-08 satellite has three payloads. It includes Electro Optical Infrared Payload (EOIR), Global Navigation Satellite System-Reflectometry Payload (GNSS-R) and CIC-UV Dosimeter. This is the third launch of ISRO's smallest rocket SSLV. Earlier two attempts were made (2022 and 2023). In which ISRO got success in 2023, while the first attempt in 2022 failed.
