Regarding the ongoing tension in West Asia and tensions with Iran, Israel's Ambassador to India Reuven Azar has said that his country cannot surrender to terrorists. 'It is our responsibility to stop Iran'
“We are confident that we will be able to neutralize Iran's attack because our air defense is the best in the world,” Reuven Azar said. We destroyed most of the missiles in the air and those that fell did not cause much damage. We are fully committed to responding to Iran. Our Prime Minister clearly said that Iran will have to pay the price for this. If this is not controlled then the consequences for the area will be serious. If no one can stop Iran then it is our responsibility to stop Iran.
We cannot surrender to terrorists
Regarding the Hamas attack on October 7 last year, the Israeli ambassador said, “We were shocked by this, but we were also committed to neutralizing the threat of Hamas.” Israeli society raised its voice on this issue. We are fighting against terrorists and I am sure we will win. We managed to rescue 150 hostages and 101 hostages are still with Hamas. We have tried to compromise. Unfortunately, Hamas refused to compromise. We cannot surrender to terrorists.
United Nations should play a positive role
On the Israeli government declaring the UN Secretary General as 'persona non grata', Ambassador Azar said, “I was angry after seeing the statement of the UN Secretary General. When such a crime and violation of international law is committed, the person responsible for maintaining peace and stability is expected to speak out on it, but the UN Secretary General failed to do so. We want the United Nations to play a positive role.
Praise of Prime Minister Modi
On PM Modi's conversation with Israeli PM, Reuven Azar said, 'We are very excited about the vision of the Indian government and especially Prime Minister Modi. We need leaders like him who are determined and stand strong against this threat to humanity. India will have to decide what role it wants to play. We will continue to work closely with the Government of India to promote peace and stability in our region. If we succeed in winning the war on terror, not only Israel but all countries in the region will benefit from connectivity projects.
Indian citizens are safe in Israel
Regarding the safety of Indian citizens in Israel, he said, 'We are keeping all Indian citizens safe and away from any danger. At present I do not think there is any danger to any Indian in Israel.
