Along with the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel for the last several days, Israel also has to fight with Hezbollah. Now it is Israel's turn to fight on many fronts. Earlier there had been violent clashes with Houthi rebels and Hezbollah militants. As if this is not enough, now Iran has also jumped into this war. The war that started with the terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7 last year has now spread to Lebanon, Iran and many parts of West Asia.
UN calls for release of hostages on one year anniversary of Hamas terror attack
The violent conflict that has been going on for a year between Hamas and Israel has ended. On this occasion, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has also issued a message. He posted a video on social media X demanding the immediate and unconditional release of Israeli citizens held hostage. He said that the terrorist attack on October 7 has shaken the souls. On this day we remember all those who were brutally murdered. They have also faced many tortures and violence including sexual violence. In addition to releasing the Israeli hostages, UNO Secretary Guterres has also appealed to Hamas to allow the International Committee of the Red Cross to meet the hostages.
Even after a year, there is no sign of the violent conflict ending
In West Asia itself, Israel was frightened by the attacks of Houthi rebels. Apart from this, Hamas has been fighting with Iran-backed Hezbollah fighters for the last one week. In the last one week, the Israeli army has carried out rapid attacks on many targets in Lebanon. There have also been reports of deaths of many Israeli soldiers. The conflict has intensified after the killing of Hezbollah commander Nasrallah and several top leaders of the organization. Both Iran and Israel are vowing to continue fighting against each other. In such a situation, even after a year has passed, there is no possibility of peace being restored in West Asia.
West Asia has long been troubled by tensions arising from the conflict between Hamas and Israel. The violent conflict between the two sides, which started after the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, continues even after a year has passed. More than 1,200 Israelis have been killed in Hamas attacks, while Israel Defense Forces (IDF) retaliatory attacks have killed more than 41,000 so far. The Gaza Strip was particularly badly hit, where millions of people were forced to flee the humanitarian crisis. After the ongoing war with Hamas, Israel also had to deal with other powers in West Asia.
