Kochi, April 3 (HS). Kerala Blasters FC will play East Bengal FC at their home ground Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 this evening.
Ivan Vukomanovic's Blasters have 30 points from 19 matches and only Chennaiyin FC and Punjab FC can match them. Odisha FC defeated Punjab FC on Tuesday, hence, the Kochi-based team has automatically qualified for the playoffs.
In contrast, East Bengal FC will have to work hard to make the top six. They are at 11th place in the table after scoring 18 points in 19 matches. They have three matches left, and they can reach maximum 27 points by winning all the matches.
Kerala Blasters FC's Serbian head coach Ivan Vukomanovic said before the match on Tuesday, “As a coach, you always want that no one in your team gets injured. “We want everyone to be available in the final stages of the season and want to ensure players are fresh and able to recover in the best possible way.”
