ISKCON secretary accused of treason, insult to national flag in Bangladesh

Sedition charge against ISKCON secretary: A case of treason has been registered against Chinmoy Das, one of the prominent faces of the ISKCON group in Bangladesh. A case was registered against Chinmoy Das Brahmachari and 19 other Hindu organization leaders and workers in Chittagong district on Wednesday evening.

Chinmoy Das has been accused of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh during a rally held in Chittagong on October 25. Chittagong Police alleged that ISKCON saffron was hoisted above the national flag of Bangladesh during the demonstration.

Two people have already been arrested in this case. Chinmoy Das Brahmachari is the secretary of the ISKCON Trust in Bangladesh and has been continuously organizing rallies and demonstrations to raise his voice against the atrocities on Hindus.

Bangladesh government took action

Bangladesh government has registered a case against Chinmay Das accusing him of treason and conspiracy. Chinmoy Das said that on the day of the rally, some people hoisted the moon-and-star flag, while he clarified that the moon-and-star flag is not the national flag of Bangladesh.

Chinmoy Das said, 'I don't know who hoisted the flag, but he was an anti-social element, action should be taken against him. On social media, I am being accused of being a supporter of Awami League and working against Bangladesh in collaboration with the Indian secret agency.

Hindus are being targeted in Bangladesh

Hindus are being continuously targeted since the coup in Bangladesh. Various types of attacks keep happening on the Hindu population there. On October 28, an attempt was made to lynch Hridaypal, a Hindu class 11 student in Faridpur district of Bangladesh. After this Hriday Pal was arrested.
