Violence increased after the fall of Sheikh Hasina government

Political instability has increased in Bangladesh since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government on August 5. Incidents of unrest and violence have been reported in more than 50 districts of the country. The minority Hindu community is being targeted by fundamentalists. This situation has created a serious crisis for the eight percent Hindu population in Bangladesh, which has a population of 17 crore.

Demand for confidence of minorities

Spokesperson Radharaman Das demanded the interim government of Bangladesh to take strict action against radicals in the country. “We need to restore security and confidence for minorities,” he said. The elements inciting violence should be immediately arrested so that the minorities can get the message that they are safe.”

Devotees expressed solidarity

Devotees at the prayer meeting expressed their deep condolences to the Hindu community of Bangladesh and appealed to the international community to pay attention to the issue. ISKCON followers said it is time to stand up for humanity and everyone should raise their voice to ensure the safety of minorities.
