Ishan Kishan's absence from Ranji Trophy continues: Wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan is currently out of the Indian team and his name has been in the news for the last few days for not playing in domestic cricket. The board had issued guidelines for all the players, if violated once again, Ishan Kishan's career is in danger and the board can take action on it.
BCCI announced new guidelines
It is noteworthy that Ishan Kishan's absence from Ranji Trophy continues and he was not a part of the team even in the final round match which started in Jamshedpur from today. Now the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can take action against Ishan Kishan. Let us tell you that earlier BCCI had asked the centrally contracted players playing in the Indian team to join the Ranji team. The board has also announced new guidelines for this. BCCI said that it will no longer tolerate any excuse for this. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced this before the Rajkot Test match on 14 February.
This is why the board has made it mandatory to play Ranji Trophy
One thing was clear from Jay Shah's message that Ishan Kishan, Krunal Pandya and Deepak Chahar also had to join their respective domestic teams, skipping the Ranji Trophy and straight away starting preparations for the IPL. However, ignoring the message of BCCI Secretary, Ishan Kishan is still not playing Ranji matches. With the 25-year-old cricketer no longer playing first-class cricket and focusing only on the IPL, BCCI was forced to make it mandatory for him to play Ranji Trophy matches.
