New Delhi, September 5 (HS). Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and fast bowler Prasidh Krishna have been eliminated from the first round of the Duleep Trophy.
In a statement issued late on Wednesday, the BCCI said that Ishan Kishan has been ruled out of the first round of the Duleep Trophy due to a back injury sustained during the All-India Buchi Babu Tournament. The BCCI medical team is closely monitoring his condition and working towards his speedy recovery.
The selection committee has included Sanju Samson in the India D team in place of Kishan.
At the same time, batsman Suryakumar Yadav will also not be available for the first round of the Duleep Trophy due to a sprain in his right thumb while fielding in the All-India Buchi Babu Tournament. The BCCI medical team is assessing his injury and further evaluation next week will determine his availability for the second round.
Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is nearing the completion of his rehab after undergoing surgery on his left quadriceps tendon and will miss the first round of the Duleep Trophy. Meanwhile, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been given the green light to play and will be available for selection.
