Indian School of Business (ISB), one of the top business schools in Asia, has announced one of the largest scholarship initiatives ever in the management world of the country on the historic milestone of completing 25 years of its establishment. The institute has officially launched the ‘ISB25 Scholars Programme’. Under this special programme, ISB will provide financial assistance and scholarship to 250 meritorious, promising and economically weaker students every year for its flagship Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP). Offered at the ISB campuses in Hyderabad and Mohali, this scholarship will make world-class management education more accessible to talented youth across the country, with many eligible students benefiting from Full Tuition Waiver up to 100 percent.
ISB’s PGP course is internationally renowned for its excellent curriculum, global faculty and record placements. However, its extensive educational costs often became a major financial strain for bright students from middle-class and rural backgrounds. According to the ISB administration, the basic objective of the ‘ISB25 Scholars Programme’ is to ensure that no meritorious candidate is deprived of a world-class business education merely due to financial limitations. This scholarship framework has been designed on a dual basis—merit and need. Selected students will be provided tuition fee waivers ranging from 25%, 50%, 75% to full 100% depending on their profile, past academic record, entrance exam score and family income status, which amounts to direct savings of lakhs of rupees.
To avail the benefits of the ISB25 Scholars Programme, candidates must meet the Institute’s regular PGP admission standards as well as meet the specific scholarship criteria:
-
Academic and Professional Excellence: Strong academic performance at graduation level and notable professional achievements achieved during minimum work experience.
-
Competitive Admission Score: High percentile scores on GMAT or GRE exams.
-
Economic Background (Need-based Criteria): Candidates’ total annual family income and personal financial independence will be rigorously evaluated for 100% and advanced tuition waivers.
-
Diversity & Leadership: First generation graduates, candidates from non-traditional career backgrounds, women professionals, those who have worked in the social sector (NGOs/Social Enterprise) and candidates coming from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities will be especially encouraged.
The application process for this scholarship has been made completely transparent and digital. Candidates must submit their claims during the regular admission cycle of PGP only:
-
First of all visit the official admission portal of ISB isb.edu and fill your main application form for PGP Admission.
-
Go to the ‘Financial Aid & Scholarships’ section given in the application form and select the option of ‘ISB25 Scholars Programme’.
-
Write the required ‘Statement of Purpose’ (SOP) for the scholarship, explaining your financial challenges, future leadership goals, and the importance of this scholarship.
-
For verification of need-based assistance, it is mandatory to upload income certificate, ITR of last three years and bank statement.
-
An independent Scholarship Committee will conduct a holistic assessment of the candidate’s leadership qualities, social mindset and financial need during the Main Admission Interview (Personal Interview), after which a formal letter of scholarship will be issued along with an offer of admission.
According to the leadership of ISB, this huge fund of 250 scholarships has been established with the active support of the institute’s strong alumni network, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partners and philanthropic donors. The aim of the institute is to make this scholarship fund bigger in future so that talented leaders from India as well as developing countries can come here and fully develop their potential. Education experts believe that this move by ISB will also inspire other leading higher education institutions of the country (like IIMs and top private universities) to make their financial aid policies more inclusive and student-friendly.
