IMD confirmed the earthquake

The Meteorological Center in Himachal Pradesh's capital Shimla has confirmed the earthquake that occurred on Friday. IMD said that the earthquake occurred in Mandi district on August 9 at 9:53 am. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of five kilometers and its intensity was measured at 3.3 on the Richter scale. People are in panic after the earthquake in Mandi, Himachal in the morning. Most of the people came out of their homes. People have also shared this information on social media.

Let us tell you that amidst heavy rains, lightning and floods, earthquake has struck Himachal Pradesh for the third time. Due to the Mandi incident, earthquake tremors were felt twice in Lahaul Spiti of Himachal Pradesh on 31 July 2024 and then on 2 August 2024. Earthquake tremors were felt in Lahaul Spiti at 9.45 am on Friday, August 2. The intensity of the earthquake that day was measured at 3.2 on the Richter scale.

Let us tell you that the maximum number of earthquakes have occurred in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. Shimla and Mandi fall in earthquake zones four and five, which are considered sensitive.
