South Africa lost to Ireland in the last match of the three-match ODI series. This is the second time that Ireland has won against an African team in ODI cricket. However, South Africa has won 2-1 in the three-match series. Ireland won the third and final ODI by a margin of 69 runs.
Ireland's team scored 284 runs for nine wickets. In front of which the entire South African team was all out after scoring 215 runs in 46.1 overs. Paul Sterling was named player of the match and Lizaad Williams was named player of the series. While chasing runs, South Africa lost its top five wickets at the score of 79 runs. In the middle order, Jason Smith scored 91 runs in 93 balls with the help of nine fours and four sixes. Varian contributed 38 runs and Phelukwayo contributed 23 runs. Graham Hume lost three wickets for 29 runs.
