While participating in an interactive session with the students there, a student asked a direct and sharp question to the Railway Minister that, “Why do common people face so much trouble while booking tickets online? Why does it become almost impossible to book Tatkal tickets especially during festivals or heavy rush hours?”
The Railway Minister immediately took cognizance of this question and asked on-stage a top technical officer of the Railways present at the event whether the new website could be made live within the next 30 days. After getting the green signal from the official, the Railway Minister announced amidst thunderous applause from the students that the new super-fast website will be handed over to the country by July 15.
