Iran's nuclear bases destroyed in Israeli attack, satellite photos go viral

Another military base linked to Iran's ballistic missile program was also damaged in the Israeli attack. Analysis of satellite images shows that some of the damaged buildings are located in Iranian military bases.

The International Atomic Energy Agency suspects that Iran has already tested explosives related to nuclear weapons there. Iran has long insisted that its nuclear program is peaceful. However, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Western intelligence agencies, and others say that Tehran was actively pursuing a weapons program by 2003. Other damage can be seen at the nearby Khojir military base, which analysts believe is an underground tunnel system and missile production site.

Iran's military has not confirmed any casualties from the Israeli strikes in Khozir or Parchin on Saturday morning. However, he said that four Iranian soldiers serving in the country's air defense system were killed in the attack.

Iran was also hurt by the statement of Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei

Iran may have initially denied causing major damage, but a statement by its supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei on Sunday also indicated that the Israeli attack was not light. Iran's mission to the United Nations did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Israeli army has not responded. However, Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told an audience on Sunday that Israel's attack “should neither be exaggerated nor underestimated.”

Netanyahu said- Iran has suffered a big loss

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that the Israeli strike had caused “serious damage” to Iran, although it was not yet clear how many sites were targeted in the Israeli strike. Iran's army has not yet released any picture of the damage. Iranian officials identified the affected areas as Ilam, Khuzestan and Tehran provinces. Planet Labs PBC satellite images show burnt fields around the Tange Bijar natural gas production site in Iran's Ilam province on Saturday. However, it is not yet clear whether these pictures are related to the attack or not. Ilam Province is located in western Iran on the Iran–Iraq border. The worst damage can be seen in this photo from Planet Labs in Parchin near the Mamalu Dam, about 40 kilometers southeast of downtown Tehran.

One structure there was completely destroyed, while other structures were damaged in the attack. In Khojir, about 20 kilometers from downtown Tehran, satellite images show at least two structures have been damaged. IAEA chief Rafael Mariano Grossi said in a post on Twitter that “Iran's nuclear facilities were not affected.” ,
