IPL 2024: RCB faces crushing defeat, all-rounder out of next match

IPL-2024 has been disappointing for Royal Challengers Bangalore so far. The RB team suffered its fourth consecutive defeat in the tournament. RCB was defeated by Mumbai Indians in the match played at Wankhede Stadium. Which was his fifth defeat out of six matches of this tournament. RCB team is currently at ninth position in the points table. The team will now play against Hyderabad on 15th April. Before this match, RCB has suffered a setback because the team's Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been injured and it is not certain that he will play in the next match.

Maxwell suffered a toe injury

According to reports, Maxwell suffered a toe injury while fielding against Mumbai Indians and he may be out of the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Suryakumar Yadav played a strong shot on the ball of Akash Deep and the ball went straight into the hands of Maxwell. The ball came very fast due to which Maxwell could not catch it and got injured. After this Maxwell went out of the field.

Maxwell has not been impressive with the bat

In the current IPL season, Maxwell's bat is still quiet and he is struggling to score runs. Maxwell was out without opening the account against Mumbai Indians. This was the 17th time in his IPL career that Maxwell returned to the pavilion with one wicket. Meanwhile, he made an unwanted record in his name. He is the player who has been out the most number of times in the history of IPL. Maxwell has reached the level of Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik in this matter. In fact, he is the first foreign player to get out on golden duck so many times in IPL.

Green can make a comeback

If Maxwell is unable to play against Sunrisers Hyderabad, then Cameron Green may get a chance in his place in the playing eleven. Like Maxwell, Green's performance this season has also not been anything special, which is why he was not included in the playing eleven against Mumbai Indians. Will Jacques was included in place of Green against Mumbai. But if Maxwell is not present then Green may return to the playing eleven.
