IPL 2024: 2 teams winning the 10th IPL face to face today, eyes on Rohit-Dhoni

Double header will be played today in the Indian Premier League IPL. The first match will be between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants at Eden Garden at 3.30 pm. So the second match will be played at Wankhede Stadium Mumbai at 7.30 pm. Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will face each other in this match.

MI and CSK have won 5 titles so far

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are the most successful teams in IPL history. Both the teams have won five titles each so far. Mumbai won these 5 IPL titles under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Whereas CSK won the title under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. However, both the players are featuring as batsmen for their respective teams this season. Mumbai gave the captaincy to Hardik Pandya in place of Rohit Sharma, while Dhoni gave the captaincy of Chennai to Rituraj Gaikwad. Despite this, the rivalry on the field between the two teams is expected to remain the same.

h2h record between these two teams

If we look at the history of IPL, Mumbai Indians have dominated in the 36 matches played between the two teams so far. Meanwhile, Mumbai has won 20 matches. While Chennai Super Kings won 16 matches. However, in the last five matches between the two teams, Chennai Super Kings have won four. In the match between Mumbai and Chennai, all eyes will be on Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rohit Sharma. This will be the first time that Chennai Super Kings will play in Mumbai without the captaincy of Dhoni. Even at the age of 42, Dhoni is performing brilliantly behind the wicket. Chennai will be hoping that Dhoni's tactical skills help them improve their poor record in the outfield this season.

Both teams have special players

It will be a tough challenge for the Chennai bowlers to stop the Mumbai batsmen who came close to the target of 200 runs against the Royal Challengers Bangalore after their brilliant performance against Delhi Capitals. After a bad start, Hardik Pandya has returned to Mumbai Indians. The performance of its batsmen in the last two matches has been excellent. Suryakumar Yadav scored a half-century in 17 balls against RCB. Chennai bowlers have performed well on the slow pitch of Chepauk, but they are yet to be tested on flat and batsman-friendly pitches. The opening partnership of Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma will be important for Mumbai. Whereas Chennai will expect good innings from captain Gaikwad, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Shivam Dubey, Ravindra Jadeja and Dhoni. He will also have to stay away from Jasprit Bumrah (10 wickets). Chennai's bowling will be in the hands of Mustafizur Rahman, Jadeja, Shardul Thakur and Tushar Deshpande.
