iPhone users beware, Apple gave this big warning

Apple has issued a warning of spyware attack for users using its smartphones i.e. iPhone in 92 countries including India. Apple says iPhone users may be victims of mercenary spyware attack. This attack may threaten the privacy of users. This spyware is being used to target selected users. Apple has warned iPhone users by sending an official mail in this matter.

Apple has sent such a warning email to its users on April 10. In which Apple has expressed fear of spyware attack on its users from software like Pegasus. If you are also an iPhone user then you need to be careful about privacy. Apple has appealed to its users not to click on unknown links and be careful about accessing unknown attachments.

What is a mercenary spyware attack?

According to the information given by news agency Reuters, Apple has said in its email that this spyware attack can prove to be a big threat to iPhone users. Through this spyware attack, hackers can remotely access the iPhone and break into it.

– The email also said that the mercenary spyware attacks are more advanced than regular cyber criminal activity and other malware attacks. Such a dangerous cyber attack or spyware has never been seen till now.

Even before this Apple had warned

iPhone maker Apple has issued warnings to users regarding such attacks several times since 2021. Apple has so far warned users in more than 150 countries about spyware attacks.

In October 2023, some Indian lawmakers shared screenshots of Apple's warning on social media. Which read, 'Apple believes that you are being targeted by a state sponsor (government) attack, which is trying to remotely compromise the iPhone associated with your Apple ID.'

After this uproar, the central government sought clarification from the company and clarified that the word state sponsored in the mail sent by Apple was completely wrong and the government was not responsible for it.
